Hello to all the wonderful readers of Pandora’s Caja. I am so excited to be part of this wonderful blog and I have Pandora to thank for giving me the opportunity to join this exciting adventure.
I love all types of music including salsa, merengue, bachata, reggaeton, pop, rock, etc. I have a passion for dancing and I think music expresses that which cannot be put into words and cannot remain silent. The same way I believe that there is something beautiful and unique about a human being, I also believe this about music. When I have come across a piece of music that I don’t like, I make it a point to listen to it more closely and find its beauty, and I always do. I have been to many concerts throughout my life and it is my belief that music brings people together. It allows us to experience the same emotions.
I am a huge Chayanne fan and I think my love for him is what brought me to find this amazing blog, and now being a part of it is truly a dream come true. I have followed Chayanne since I was a little girl and in all honesty I find him to be the complete package when it comes to being a superstar. He has captured all of our hearts and once you are Chayanne fan you never steer away from his music, it’s like you are hooked for life. I was lucky to enough to meet Chayanne this past November at his concert in Atlantic City and what can I tell you, I can now die happy. He was more than I expected, a great human being with talent beyond belief.
I work for the school system and my job is very rewarding because it shapes our children’s future. Children are our future leaders and I am proud to say that no matter what I achieve in my lifetime, I have made a difference in the life of a child and this gives me great satisfaction.
I love to spend time with my family as well as traveling and meeting new people and places. One thing I do for myself every year is take a vacation with my family and totally disconnect from the world. This is what keeps me sane and charges my battery to come back to reality and be the best that I can be.
I hope you enjoy my work here in Pandora’s Caja. I will certainly put all of my heart and soul into it and the finished product will be the best that I can give you. I find that the more willing I am to be grateful for the small things in life, the bigger stuff just seems to show up from unexpected sources. I am definitely looking forward to each day with all the surprises that will be coming my way thanks to Pandora and her kindness to allow me to embark in this journey together. Pandora, I won’t let you down!
I wanted to take this opportunity to formally introduce a new staff member to Pandora's Caja. You may know her for her off the chain translations in Bariloche's Music Box and other translation work that she's done for the Caja, but now she part of the crew! Bariloche has been a long time fan of Chayanne and a very good friend to me. Not only will she be bringing her love of Chayanne to the Caja, but she will also be bringing her knowledge of music, and passion for life. Please celebrate with me the very welcome addition to the Pandora's Caja....Bariloche
Hello blogging world! I am very happy to join you :) . This being my very first blog I thought it appropriate that I tell you a bit about myself. I am a fun, life loving person who has a few… vices.
Vise #1 – Chayanne. (C’mon, you know you saw that coming lol). I have been a fan of Chayanne for what seems to be centuries. I was only 9 years old when I first started loving his music (and 12 years since I started drooling over him) and 18 years later I can say with confidence that I am as in love as I have ever been.
Vise #2 – Music. I love everything about music. The feelings it invokes, the passion with which songs are written (both the music and lyrics). I have been very fortunate to have had opportunities and met wonderful people who have helped me become involved with music. I was blessed with the opportunity to interview one of Latin America’s biggest stars, Juanes for Univison.com when his mega album “La Vida es un Ratico” was released 2 years ago. I’ve also partaken in the promotion of several sold-out concerts of artists such as Luis Miguel and Fonseca in Toronto. In all honesty, I can say that music is my balance in life.
Vise #3 – Work. I could elaborate on this but I’ll keep it short. I am an Engineer. Civil Engineer to be exact and I work in the construction industry. Do I love it? Yes. Has it turned me into a workaholic? YES…. Thank God for Vise #2!
Vise #4 – Traveling. Is there anything better in life? Well… except for maybe winning the Mega Millions or having Chayanne show up at your doorstep with a bouquet of orchids singing “Yo Te Amo”, no… I do not believe there is. I have traveled to many different places, my favorite of all being Japan. And yes, I will admit that I have done the “fan thing” and have traveled to many different places just to see Chayanne in concert (Canada, San Diego, Panama). Seems like everything goes back to Vise #2 doesn’t it? :)
Vise#5 – Blogging? This is TBD :)
I hope that you enjoy reading my entries as much as I will love to write them. Please feel free to leave comments and ask anything you wish. I would like to say a big THANK YOU to Pandora for letting me into this wonderful world of hers. I hope I do you proud!
In the beginning of my Chayanne fandom I found that it was very hard, almost impossible to find current information about him in English. As time went on I came across some English speaking fans, a few of them have become very dear friends, who were able to point me in the direction of English fan sites....but I wanted to be able to find my unique way of expressing myself and my thoughts....from this desire Pandora's Caja was born.
I started this blog with one purpose in mind, to try and provide as much information about Chayanne as I could to his English speaking fans as well as express my own thoughts and opinions about various Chayanne happenings. But over time my desire to only write about material that related to Chayanne has evolved into the desire to write about more.....and I have Chayanne to thank for that.
I have found something that I truly love...writing or what people may call blogging. I'm not a professional writer, but I will always try my best to cover material that I believe is worth writing about. I write what is in my heart and what is news worthy at the same time. From time to time I will post English translations of other new articles, but mainly, what you get from me are my inspired thoughts.....the thoughts and feelings that come out of the "box". The "box" refers to my heart, or my head...sometimes both. Sometimes the entries will be short at other times they will be more lengthy, but I hope that you will always find something about the posts that you enjoy.
You may not always agree with what I write about, and that's cool, but know this, no matter whether we agree or disagree....I will always have mad love for my readers.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all of my dear friends and readers who have at many times been the inspiration for my subject matter...you know who you are.....mad love! *HUG*
For those of you that will stop by from time to time, or who may stop by once and never return, I have mad love for you as well.....
As I'm fond of saying...with that said, I want to welcome you into my heart, my head, and my home.....
~Peace
